First Community Acupuncture Visit

About Community Acupuncture:

  • Community style acupuncture is different from a traditional one on one appointment in a private room. You will be in a big room with multiple people. This allows us to make it more cost effective for you.
  • This type of acupuncture is great for treating many types of issues like insomnia, digestive upset, chronic pain, anxiety, smoking addiction, and much more.
  • If you are used to the one on one style treatment you should know that only head, ear, arm, and leg points are used. If you would like a treatment that involves needles on the back, abdomen or other areas not mentioned above you should book a private treatment with us.
  • If you are unsure of the type of appointment to book give us a call 928-582-6447 and we will be happy to help you.

Preparing for your visit:

  • Please wear comfortable clothes that can easily be adjusted to allow access to your arms and legs.
  • Make sure you have eaten and consumed water at least 2 hours prior to your visit.
  • Please arrive about 5 minutes before your visit to get checked in.

What to Expect:

  • We will spend the first few minutes talking about your symptoms and the remainder of the time will be treatment.
  • You will be in quiet room with up to 3 people being treated at once. You sit in a reclining zero gravity chair and enjoy some relaxing tunes.
  • Unlike some private treatments you are fully clothed, all you have to do is roll up your sleeves and pant legs (to the knees).
  • Acupuncture needles are very small, single use, precision cut needles. We will provide a brief demo if you have never received acupuncture and explain the procedure of inserting the needles.
  • Occasionally you may feel a slight twinge (nothing like receiving an injection), however most of the needles are painless.
  • Usually between 5-15 needles are used in one session. Once they are placed, you will be left to enjoy some relaxation while the needles work for the rest of the visit. This usually takes 15-20 minutes.
